Predheal Cream: Active Relief for Skin Inflammation
Composition:
Predheal Cream Each gram contains the potent anti-inflammatory corticosteroid Methylprednisolone Aceponate 0.1% w/w.
Description:
- Predheal is a topical medicine (corticosteroid) specifically designed to combat various skin inflammatory issues. It effectively tames redness (erythema), skin thickening, bumps, fluid buildup (edema), itching, and burning sensations.
- Ideal for conditions like atopic dermatitis, eczema in children, contact eczema, and various eczema forms, Predheal provides targeted relief.
Clinical Pharmacology:
- Upon topical application, Predheal exhibits anti-inflammatory, anti-itching, and blood vessel-constricting actions. It binds to internal glucocorticoid receptors, triggering lipomodulin production. This protein blocks inflammatory mediators, bringing relief from skin inflammation and itching.
Percutaneous and Systemic Absorption:
- Slightly more Methylprednisolone Aceponate (approximately 2.5%) gets absorbed through open skin compared to normal skin (0.2-1.5%).
- Occlusive dressings can increase absorption. Absorbed Predheal transforms into an inactive form (6α-methylprednisolone-17-propionate) and is primarily eliminated through the kidneys.
Indications and Usage:
- Suppress inflammatory and allergic skin reactions, Predheal alleviates redness, thickening, edema, itching, and more.
- Effective for atopic dermatitis, eczema in children, contact eczema, and various eczema forms.

- Rarely, intensive topical use can lead to systemic side effects like adrenal suppression.

- Treatment duration shouldn’t exceed 12 weeks for adults and 4 weeks for children.
