About brand

Description

TERBIN Cream: Terbinafine HCI 1% w/w

TERBIN Cream, a powerful allylamine compound with broad-spectrum antifungal activity, charges into battle against fungal invaders like dermatophytes, yeasts, and even some dimorphic fungi. Its active ingredient, Terbinafine, stands ready to conquer annoying conditions like athlete’s foot, jock itch, ringworm, and yeast infections, bringing swift relief and restoring your skin to its former glory.

 Composition

Each gram of TERBIN Cream contains Terbinafine HCI (BP) at a concentration of 1% w/w, ensuring its effectiveness in eradicating various fungal infections

Therapeutic Indications

TERBIN Cream treats fungal infections of the skin caused by various fungi, including Trichophyton (such as T. rubrum, T. mentagrophytes, T. verrucous, and T. violaceus), Microsporum canis, and Epidermophyton floccosum. It also works against yeast infections of the skin, mainly those caused by the genus Candida (such as C. albicans), and Pityriasis versicolor due to Malassezia furfur (formerly known as Pityrosporum orbiculare).

 Clinical Pharmacology

TERBIN Cream contains Terbinafine, which targets fungal sterol biosynthesis at an early stage This disruption leads to a deficiency in ergosterol and an accumulation of squalene within the fungal cells, ultimately resulting in fungal cell death Importantly, Terbinafine acts by inhibiting squalene epoxidase in the fungal cell membrane, and this enzyme is not linked to the cytochrome P450 system

Pharmacokinetics

Applying the medication topically minimizes systemic exposure, as less than 5% of the dose is absorbed into the body.

Dosage and Administration

Use TERBIN Cream one or two times a day, based on the severity of your infection. The exact duration and frequency of treatment will depend on the specific condition you’re dealing with.

  •  Tinea corporis, Tinea curries, and Tinea pedis: 1 to 2 weeks
  • Do not use TERBIN in children.
  •  Cutaneous candidiasis: 1 week
  •  Pityriasis versicolor: 2 weeks
  •  Elderly patients: No need for dosage adjustment

 Contraindications

Do not use Cream if you are allergic to Terbinafine or any ingredients in the cream. (This is the most concise and direct option.)

Warnings and Precautions

  • Don’t get TERBIN Cream in your eyes. It can irritate them.
  • Pregnant women should avoid using TERBIN , and breastfeeding mothers must not apply it.
  • Avoid applying terbinafine to areas where your baby might come into contact, as it passes into breast milk. (Places emphasis on preventing infant contact)

Adverse Reactions

Using TERBIN may cause itching, peeling, pain, or irritation at the application site. Other possible skin reactions include discoloration, redness, and scabbing. In rare cases, severe allergic reactions like widespread itchy rash and hives might occur, requiring you to stop using the cream.

Overdosage

Due to its low systemic absorption, an overdose of Cream is extremely unlikely. However, if accidentally ingested, the side effects could be similar to those seen with Terbinafine tablets. In such cases, focus on managing any symptoms that arise.

Stability

Please refer to the expiry date on the packaging for product stability Store TERBIN below 30°C, protecting it from light and heat, and avoid freezing
