Advacort Lotion: Effective Topical Corticosteroid for Skin Conditions
COMPOSITION Advacort Lotion:
Each gram of Advacort Lotion contains Fluticasone Propionate USP (0.05% w/w)
 DESCRIPTION:
Atcovate Lotion features Fluticasone Propionate, a synthetic fluorinated corticosteroid used for topical dermatological purposes. Fluticasone Propionate plays a pivotal role in mitigating inflammation and itching associated with various dermatoses. Its chemical composition is C25H31F3O5S, with a molecular weight of 500.6
 PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES:
- Pharmacodynamics: Fluticasone Propionate exhibits medium range potency as a topical corticosteroid, making it highly effective in reducing inflammation and pruritic symptoms
- Â Vasoconstrictor Assay: Fluticasone Propionate performs well in vasoconstrictor trials, indicating its therapeutic capability
- Â Hypothalamic Pituitary Adrenal (HPA) Axis Suppression: Fluticasone Propionate has a low risk of causing HPA axis suppression, which is a favorable safety profile for a corticosteroid
 INDICATIONS Advacort Lotion:
Adults experiencing both inflammation and itching due to corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses can seek relief from Advacort.
 DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:
Lotion: Gently apply a thin layer of Atcovate Lotion to affected skin areas once daily. Rub it in gently to facilitate absorption. Treatment should be discontinued upon achieving symptom control. If no improvement is observed within two weeks, consult a physician for reevaluation
 CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Advacort is generally safe to use, and there are no specific contraindications for its application
 ADVERSE EFFECTS:
Common adverse reactions to Advacort may include pruritus, burning, hypertrichosis, increased erythema, urticaria, irritation, and
lightheadedness
 WARNING & PRECAUTIONS:
- Â Hypothalamic Pituitary Adrenal (HPA) Axis Suppression: Prolonged and extensive use, especially in cases of large treatment surface areas, use under occlusion, altered skin barrier, liver failure, and in young patients, may lead to reversible HPA axis suppression. In case of suspected HPA axis suppression, modify the treatment plan.
- Â Allergic Contact Dermatitis: In cases of failure to heal, patch testing should be considered for the diagnosis of allergic contact dermatitis. Discontinue Atcovate as needed
- Â Skin Infections: If concurrent skin infections occur, use appropriate antimicrobial agents for treatment. If no favorable response is observed, discontinue Atcovate until the infection is controlled
 SPECIAL POPULATION for Advacort Lotion:
- Â Pregnancy: Use Atcovate during pregnancy only if the potential benefits outweigh the potential risks to the fetus
- Nursing mothers should discuss the use of Fluticasone Propionate with their healthcare provider.
- Based on current research, Advacort is not suitable for use in children because its safety and effectiveness have not been adequately studied.
 OVERDOSAGE:
Excessive topical application of Advacort may lead to systemic effects. In such cases, seek medical attention as needed
 INSTRUCTIONS:
-  Store Advacort Lotion below 30°C and avoid freezing. Protect it from light and heat
- Â Keep it out of the reach of children
- Â Use Atcovate as directed by your physician
