TRETIDERM Gel: Effective Acne Treatment with Isotretinoin
 Composition:
TRETIDERM Gel contains Isotretinoin at a concentration of 006% w/w
 Pharmacological Properties:
Isotretinoin, structurally related to Vitamin A, plays a key role in regulating epithelial cell growth and differentiation The exact mechanism of action of isotretinoin is still under investigation, but when used
systemically, it effectively suppresses sebaceous gland activity, reduces sebum production, combats Propionibacterium acnes, and alleviates inflammation In topical applications, it behaves similarly to tretinoin, stimulating epidermal mitosis, promoting desquamation, and preventing the formation of acne lesions Additionally, it helps to expel and prevent comedones by encouraging the production of less cohesive epidermal sebaceous cells
 Indications:
TRETIDERM Gel is recommended for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris It effectively targets both inflammatory and noninflammatory lesions
 Directions For Use:
Apply TRETIDERM Gel sparingly over the entire affected area once or twice daily Ensure the skin is clean and dry before application Patients should be aware that it may take 68 weeks of consistent use to observe
therapeutic effects
 Contraindications:
TRETIDERM Gel should not be used by individuals with a known hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients
 Use During Pregnancy and Lactation:
The safety of topically applied isotretinoin during human pregnancy remains inadequately studied Systemic use of isotretinoin has shown teratogenic effects in humans, making it inadvisable for use during pregnancy Although percutaneous absorption of isotretinoin from TRETIDERM Gel is minimal, there’s uncertainty regarding its excretion during lactation, so its use should be avoided while nursing
 Adverse Effects:
Typically, TRETIDERM Gel may cause mild stinging, burning, or irritation, and may lead to localized redness and peeling These reactions usually resolve when treatment is temporarily discontinued If irritation persists or becomes severe, discontinue treatment and consult a healthcare professional
 Precautions:
- Â Avoid applying
TRETIDERM Gel to mucous membranes, the lips, mouth, eyes, or the angles of the nose - Â Use caution when applying the gel to sensitive skin areas, like the neck
- Â Do not use on broken, eczematous, or sunburned skin
- Â Protect treated areas from sunlight; if exposure is unavoidable, use sunscreen or cover the areas with clothing
- Â Avoid using sunlamps during TRETIDERM treatment
Although tretinoin has not been found to cause irritation or promote carcinogenesis in humans, it has been linked to an acceleration in UVB radiation induced cutaneous tumors in hairless mice Individuals with a personal or family history of cutaneous epithelioma should exercise caution
 Drug Interactions:
Use caution when combining TRETIDERM with other topical acne treatments Particular care should be taken with products containing peeling agents (eg, benzoyl peroxide) or abrasive cleansers
 Storage Conditions:
Store TRETIDERM Gel below 25°C, protecting it from heat, light, and moisture Keep it out of the reach of children
 Presentation:
TRETIDERM Gel is available in 10gm tubes, making it a convenient option for topical acne treatment
